I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

When the wine gave out the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine,” and Jesus said to her, “Woman what concern is that to you and to me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” Meditate on Mary’s gentle urging of her son to act and her trust that he would. Let us pray.

Jesus describes a kingdom that is “not of this world.” A kingdom that calls “sinners, not the just.” That asks us to love our enemies. A kingdom of heaven that belongs to the “meek,” the “poor in spirit,” and to those who are persecuted. A kingdom that he likened to a hidden treasure or a mustard seed. Contemplate this kingdom as we pray.

“He took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’ And he did the same with the cup after supper, saying, ‘This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.’” We continue to live out Jesus’ command to “do this in memory of me” at every Mass.
